About the Artist

Dr. Jessica Myers is a versatile Oboe and English horn player, double reed educator, and teaching artist who has thrived on a diverse range of experiences. She is the Principal oboist of the Kokomo Symphony, Kokomo Park Band, and English horn player of the Muncie Symphony Orchestra. Other musical appearances include the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, Butler Ballet, and Butler Opera.

Jessica enacts her passion for education to oboists, bassoonists, and little learners alike. Currently located in central Indiana, Dr. Myers is a prominent double reed educator throughout her local and surrounding school districts. Outside of her double reed classes, she has a thriving double reed studio for budding lifelong learners. Jessica loves presenting music and literacy integration through Arts for Learning's Wolf Trap program to young learners age one to six.

Dr. Myers’ alma maters, in retrograde, are the University of Miami, Florida, Ball State University Mannes College of Music at The New School, and Butler University. Jessica’s prior private teachers include Robert Weiner, Dr. Lisa Kozenko, Sherry Sylar, Jennifer Christen, and Malcolm W. Smith.
