Teaching Artist Review

Jingo's presentation was extremely engaging and shared a positive message: Big tasks can be broken down into tiny manageable pieces .My students really enjoyed his art work and were excited to give his style of art a try. He also made connections to grammar and writing that related well to my students learning. -Gayal Jones, ELL Teacher Clinton Young Elementary

About the Artist

When most kids in the Philippines played hide-and-seek during nightly blackouts in the 90's, Jingo preferred staying indoors; learning how to draw beside a dim lamp. He later immigrated to the US and is now a professional Illustrator, having worked with world-renowned companies such as Penguin-Random House and Duncan Toys. He has been illustrating professionally since 2011. Jingo says this about his artistry, "Illustration to me is more than just a career. I wouldn't even call it a passion. Passion is overrated. To me, it's a way of life more than anything else. It's a gift that I simply can't ignore, even if I tried."
