Teaching Artist Review
The program was for our 1st and 2nd graders and they loved it! They were very expressive and learned something they loved! Theon Lee really gets on their level and gets them excited for what he is teaching. The questions he asked them got them to thinking about careers and goals for themselves. -Teacher, Winding Ridge Elementary School
Program Description
This workshop incorporates math and human beatboxing, one of the subcultures of hip hop. This interactive workshop introduces pattern as a game by using numbers, symbolism, and onomatopoeia to turn math puzzles into musical compositions. Students will gain an understanding of the correlation between basic arithmetic, music, and pattern as it pertains to a form of composition.
