Teaching Artist Review
A +
Deborah does a fantastic job with stories for large and small groups of children. She captures their attention with her voice inflections and humor. She really enjoys what she does (it is evident in her performance). She is a very gifted speaker. I highly recommend her for a convocation. -Deb Perry, Music Educator

Program Description
This is a story told in a voice of a girl coming of age on Indiana Avenue in the 1940's, when Indiana Avenue was the social and economic center of the Black community in Indianapolis. This story also details one of the first housing projects in the country, Lockefield Gardens, and its impact on the city.
