Teaching Artist Review
A +
Deborah does a fantastic job with stories for large and small groups of children. She captures their attention with her voice inflections and humor. She really enjoys what she does (it is evident in her performance). She is a very gifted speaker. I highly recommend her for a convocation. -Deb Perry, Music Educator

Program Description
In this pre-recorded performance video, Deborah Asante adopts the character of Sukie, a jazz singer and aspiring storyteller, as she tells the story of The Cornbread Man. Animated illustrations by Visual Artist Gary Gee are mixed in throughout the story. See what happens when Ma tries to whip up a tasty surprise for Pa. This performance video includes a viewing guide for teachers.
